Member Adrian Sandrey hosted the meeting at the Great Southern Inn which was by a well received three hour tour of Eden sites including the Davidson Whaling Station, the Seahorse Inn, the lookout, Snug Cove and Aslings Beach.

The Wilderness Coast (Bermagui to the border) will feature in a week-long marketing program in Canberra in October.

Canberra was being targeted for its proximity to the Wilderness Coast and its population of international and national travellers and locals looking for a weekend away.

The SCT will have exhibitions at the Food and Wine Festival (October 18 and 19), shopping centres (October 19 to 24), and the Home Leisure, Caravan, 4WD Camping Show (October 24 to 26).

The potential for cruise ship dollars for Eden remains a priority for the tourism industry and work continues on adding Eden to the future itineraries of cruise ship companies.

SCT member Adrian Sandrey will attend a Cruise Down Under conference in Melbourne in August to pursue this end.

Funding is a constant necessity for promoting our area, he said.

Submissions to the Bega Valley Shire Council were being planned for Visitor Information Centres and the cruise program.

After many months of work, the visitor guide (costing approximately $21,000) and website will launched on September 8 at the Tathra Wharf.

STC staff will host the event and planned on inviting a good crowd of supporters and local business.

The meeting was the first at a series of sites which will see the committee meet at Tathra, Bermagui and Merimbula in the future familiarise itself with feature towns on the Wilderness Coast.
