Netballers’ great effort

31/07/2008 12:03:00 PM
The Sapphire Coast Under 14s had a hard task ahead of them playing in division two of the state age netball carnival at Newcastle, however the girls performed admirably and were proud of the outcome.

Kathy Cumming, coach, and assistant coach Abby Gorden had prepared the girls well for some pretty tough competition.

Of the 24 games played over the three days, the girls came away with seven wins, 15 losses (many very close) and two draws finishing in 21st position of the ladder.

At the end of the carnival, the girls voted Kelsy Lane as their 'players player' and Anna McGee was awarded the coaches award.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
