Under 7s Red

Eden Under 7s Red took on Bombala in a great game, with Sean MacGillivray, Kendall Mylan and Semisi Tui-Dow all doing fantastic tackling.

Kynan Godfrey and Max Beaven both showing great ball skills.

Joshua Dykhoff-Darrington showing great foot work and scoring two tries.

Tamika Millard and Will Ewin also scoring tries.

Randall and Will Ewin and Tamika Millard all had a kick for goal and all three were successful.

The coach's award went to Tamika Millard.

Eden Tigers Under 9s

Bombala 26 defeated Eden 24.

The Cubs went down this week to the Heeler Pups in a good hard game 24/26.

Shawn Michelin bagged three tries and Jack Millard scored one try.

Josh Cole and Harrison Baker made their conversions.

Taylor Swires, Blayke Thornton, Ryan Cocks, Toby Linehan, Luke Denham, Sam Vandermey and Jason Smith all had solid games both in attack and defense with Taylor Swires playing very well to earn the man of the match award.

Eden Tigers Under 11s

Eden 50 defeated Bombala nil.

Eden started strongly with Zac Jarvis scoring his first ever try after some nice work by Olli Veness-Pride.

Straight from the kick-off the Tigers were on the attack again and Olli Veness-Pride crossed over for the first of his four tries.

The game was only seven minutes old when Mitch Farrell barged over for a nice try and Eden were on a roll.

Everyone was backing up well and the defense was solid, but again high tackles were starting to get the boys in trouble with the referee.

Bombala received four penalties in a row and Eden was forced to defend their line for several minutes.

Finally Eden were able to get back up the other end of the field and it was Ron Mason who scored the next two tries, both after good lead up work by the forwards and nice work in the backline.

After a warning from the referee about high tackles the boys were back for the second half.

The Tigers started this half just like the first with Olli Veness-Pride crossing after just two minutes.

Then two minutes later Ron Mason scored, within six minutes he had crossed twice more and it was all over 52 to nil.

To their credit the Bombala boys kept on coming and were able to hold Eden scoreless for the last 10 minutes but it was just one of those days.

For the Tigers everyone played well, with strong kick chases and solid defense holding the opposition scoreless and great backing up and good passing allowing the boys to pile on the points.

Man of the match this week was shared by Ron Mason and Olli Veness-Pride.

Players’ player went to Olli Veness-Pride.

Mark Cocks got another coach's award for a great game at dummy half.

Play of the day went to Zac Jarvis for his first try and a nice conversion.

Other conversions to Zac Slater, Corey Curtis, Olli Veness-Pride, Brad Cole, Chris Mitchell, Mark Cocks and Brent Andrews.

Eden Tigers Under 13s

Eden 52 defeated Narooma eight.

With only a couple more games to play in the round before finals start the team travelled off to Narooma on Saturday to go head-to-head with the Devils.

Even with a couple of boys hit with the flu, and numbers down on the bench, the Eden boys were just all too powerful for the Devils, at every opportunity the Tigers ran through a very flimsy defensive line to put points on the board.

At half time the score was starting to look more like a cricket score with Eden 40 to Narooma four.

Tries to Aaron Aldridge (one), Joe Stewart (four), Braden Joiner (four), Tyrone Maher (one), conversions Aaron Aldridge (six).

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
