The Eden Tigers Rugby League Club remain strong, and its First Grade top of the ladder, amidst uncertainty among some Group 16 Clubs.
Pambula-Merimbula Bulldogs have this week pulled out of the competition and the Narooma Devils resigned earlier in the season.
First Grade Captain Coach Mark Miller said that the loss of two clubs is a blow.
"It's not good for the comp only having five teams," he said.
"The only good thing about having time off is that we can get the over niggling minor injuries we have.
"Its hard to get in a good rhythm."
The Tigers have had a sporadic season of late. The last game played before this weekend's match at Moruya was a 30 to six win against Cooma on July 13.
After this weekend, it's a two week wait before the major semi-finals are played at the Tigers' beloved home ground in Eden.
The minor-premiership looks secure for the First Grade.
"Moruya would have to beat us by about 80 points for us to lose the minor premiership," Mr Miller said.
Reserve Grade will hopefully finish third on the ladder and play the minor premiership on August 17 at a venue yet to be decided.
The future also looks great for the club.
"We'll be good for a while and have a great following with minor Rugby League which has great parents and a great committee," Mr Miller said.
